Crimes Nearby: Man Allegedly Steals Items From Rocky Point Waldbaums

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

Rocky Point

Anthony Miccio, 31, of Sound Beach, was arrested July 4 in Rocky Point and charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. According to police, Miccio was arrested at Route 25A and Broadway for possession of heroin and cocaine, violating a Family Court order that prohibited him from possessing any illegal drugs and for driving while knowing that his license was revoked or suspended.

Lauryn Miccio, 30, of Sound Beach, was arrested July 4 in Rocky Point and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal contempt. Police said Miccio was arrested along with Anthony Miccio and was in possession of heroin. She also violated a Family Court order, according to police.

Richard Beecher Jr., 45, of Baiting Hollow, was arrested July 3 in Rocky Point and charged with petty larceny. Beecher allegedly stole a razor, deodorant and Crest White Strips from in Rocky Point, according to Police.

Tara Miller, 41, of Stony Brook, was arrested July 4 at 10:49 p.m. at the corner of Christian Avenue and Lake Avenue in Setauket. According to police, Miller was involved in a motor vehicle crash at West Meadow Beach and fled the scene. Police charged her with first-offense DWI.

On July 6, a resident of Lodge Lane in East Setauket reported that an unknown person smashed the windshield of a 1997 Volkswagon parked in the driveway at about 12:10 a.m.

On July 6, a resident of Montpelier Court in East Setauket reported that an unknown person set off fireworks on the hood of a vehicle parked in the driveway at about 12:30 a.m.

Smithtown

Benedetto Gambino, 35, of St. James was arrested and charged with a first offense DWI on July 7. Gambino was found driving north on Edgewood Avenue over the speed limit and without his headlights on, police said. He was arrested on Landing Avenue.

Colleen Leary, 21, of Commack was arrested also with first offense DWI charges on July 5. Leary was reportedly involved in a car accident where she struck another vehicle going westbound on Route 25.

Thomas Ellis, 33, of Hauppauge was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle impaired by drugs on July 3. According to police, Ellis was driving on Brooksight Drive and crashed because he was under the influence of drugs.
Vincent Bogdanowich, 30, of East Islip was arrested for grand larceny charges on July 3. Bogdanowich was found on 6th Avenue with stolen jewelery, police said.

Hauppauge

Thomas Ellis, 33, of Hauppauge, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle impaired by drugs on July 3. Ellis was driving on Brookside Drive and crashed, police said, because of being under the influence of drugs.

Eileen Garcia, 20, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested and charged with first offense DWI on July 1. Police said that Garcia was trying to make a left from Old Nichols road and drove over the curb hitting a fire hydrant. She was arrested on Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.

Evan Scalici, 24, of Islandia, was arrested and charged with operation of a vehicle while impaired by drugs.  Scalici was driving on 5th Avenue and Candlewood in Bay Shore in the opposite lane, going the wrong way, according to police. He was arrested at the precinct, said police.
