Jerrod Lafonte, 26, of Stony Brook, was arrested May 8 in East Setauket and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police stopped him at a business located at 5000 Nesconset Highway in East Setauket and allegedly found heroin in his car.

Riverhead

Tomas Jonas Lopez-Giron, 35, of Riverhead was charged with second-degree attempted assault, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on May 9 at 8:40 a.m., after police responded to a report of a dispute at an East Marion jobsite, police said. A cement truck driver told police that a contractor, later identified as Lopez-Giron, first threatened him with a hammer and then came at him with a machete, police said. .

Juan Soyos-Pixtun, 18, of Riverhead, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted assault in the first degree, four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and two counts of assault in the second degree, according to Robert Clifford, spokesperson for Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, on Tuesday. .
