Crimes Nearby: Riverside Woman Attacked on Her Own Property

Nesconset

Daniel Hunter, 20, of Coram, was arrested Dec. 13 in Nesconset and charged with possession of burglary tools. Hunter was arrested on South Hillside Avenue with a backpack containing a flashlight, screwdriver, boxcutter and gloves.

Michael Richards, 21, who has no known address, was arrested Dec. 12 in Smithtown and charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault and unlawful possession of marijuana. Richards and another man are accused of stealing cash from apartment 1F at 666 Veterans Highway in Hauppauge. Reports indicate the two men threatened a person with a handgun, and that Richards restrained the person while they were burned with a hot knife. The person was taken to the hospital.

Michael Beltrani, 20, of Smithtown, was arrested Dec. 8 at his home in Smithtown and charged with petit larceny. He is accused of stealing cash from a female victim's bank account using a forged check.

LaShanna Ward, 31, of Brentwood, was arrested Dec. 7 in Smithtown and charged with third degree grand larceny. Ward is accused of stealing jewelry from a patient's home on Tyram Lane in Commack where she was working as a home health aid.

Three Village

Reilly Zandes, 22, of Stony Brook, was arrested Dec. 13 at about 10 p.m. and charged with third degree assault for allegedly punching a man in the face near the intersection of Main Street and Gnarled Hollow Road in Setauket, causing lacerations. The victim was taken to .

Mount Sinai

Daniel Marino, 27, of Mount Sinai, was arrested Dec. 13 at about 1:37 a.m. and charged with first offense DWI. Police found him in a 2000 Honda on Route 347 in South Setauket.

Ryan Mcneil, 28, of Mount Sinai, was arrested Dec. 11 at about 11:00 a.m. and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police found him in a Patchogue parking lot allegedly in possession of prescription pills.

Riverhead

A 52-year-old woman from Riverside told police that the 40-year-old woman she allowed to sleep in her shed on Vail Avenue the night of Dec. 16 attacked her at 8:45 a.m. the next morning. When the Riverside woman went into her backyard, the woman punched her, knocking her to the ground and causing a small cut, according to an incident report. Police said they told the 40-year-old woman to stay away from the property.

Rashawn Lamb, 26, of Riverside, was arrested Dec. 14 at 4:43 p.m. on Flanders Road in Flanders and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor. Officers said they were called to the scene of a fight at the Flanders Deli and saw Lamb, who interfered in the investigation. He ran away from officers, who were questioning him, according to Lamb’s arrest report.
