Crimes Nearby: Rocky Point Man Towing His Boat Hits a Police Car

Smithtown

Ryan Travis, 27, of Kings Park, was arrested on June 29 and charged with first offense DWI. Police said they pulled Travis over at a traffic stop on Redwood Lane and arrested for driving intoxicated.

Daniel Ohara, 22, of Hauppauge, was arrested on June 28 with first offense DWI charges. Police said Ohara was found on Bank Avenue driving the wrong way on a one way street. When pulled over, police concluded him to be driving under the influence.

Giuliani Boscani, 26, of Nesconset, was arrested on June 28 for grand larceny charges. Police said, Boscani was employed at a Radio Shack and was caught for a fake return. After that, Police said that Boscani had committed multiple fake returns and transactions.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Rocky Point man who was allegedly drunk and on drugs when he crashed into a Police car at the intersection of 25A and Eagle Road in Rocky Point Monday night. Seventh Precinct Police Officer Kevin Corrigan was on patrol on westbound Route 25A in Rocky Point when William Roden III, driving a 1988 GMC pickup truck towing a boat and trailer, made a left turn in front of Officer Corrigan’s vehicle at the intersection with Eagle Road at 8:35 p.m, Police said. Officer Corrigan, who was not injured, determined Roden was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and arrested him. According to Police, Roden, 49, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Alcohol and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Hauppauge

Daniel O'Hara, 22, of Hauppauge, was arrested on June 28 and charged with first-offense DWI charges. Police said O'Hara was found on Bank Avenue in Smithtown driving the wrong way on a one-way street. When pulled over, police concluded him to be driving under the influence.

Maria Apping, 35, of Hauppage, was arrested on June 28 and charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument. Apping was charged because she was found with a fraudulent social security card, police said.

Riverhead

Willie R. Ross, 60, of Riverhead, was arrested June 27 at 1:52 a.m. on Vail Avenue in Riverhead and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and attempted assault in the second degree, both felonies. Police said Ross picked up a 3-foot piece of aluminum and struck a female acquaintance in the head. He was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters in Hampton Bays for processing, according to the arrest report.

Bobby Riddick, 44, of Mastic, was arrested July 1 at 5:07 p.m. on the County Road 94 traffic circle in Riverside and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and petty larceny, all misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said Riddick was the rear passenger in a 2007 Ford that was stopped on suspicion of a larceny of at Macy’s when he jumped out and ran. He was apprehended and charged, according to the arrest report. An incident report states that several hundred dollars' worth of clothing was stolen.
