The occupants of two vehicles involved in a car accident in Mount Sinai fled the scene on Monday night, according to police.
An unidentified woman was driving her car with her child on Munroe Avenue and while making a right turn onto Echo Avenue a man driving another car cut her off. The woman’s car ended up in a wooded area and the second car turned on its side, according to the Mount Sinai Fire Department.
Police said that the woman knew the driver of the second car, who fled the scene on foot with his passenger, another male. The woman and child also left the scene but were located a short time later, according to a police spokesperson.
No one was taken to the hospital. As of the writing of this article, no arrests have been made and the two men have not been located. Police said that a person uninvolved in the crash called 911.
