Incident Report: Graffiti Found at Heritage Park, Automated Gate Damaged

The Suffolk County Police Department responded to the following incidents between Aug. 11 and Aug. 16.

• Graffiti in the women's bathroom was reported at Heritage Park, thought to have been done sometime between Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. and Aug. 16 at 8 a.m.

• A resident of Vale Court in Mt. Sinai reported receiving a threatening letter in his mailbox from an unknown person at 5 p.m. on Aug. 13.

• A resident of Joseph Road in Port Jefferson Station reported that the wires were ripped out of the automatic driveway gate on his property, thought to have happened around 11 a.m. on Aug. 11.

• A resident of Village Woods Road in Port Jefferson reported that the home's mailbox had been knocked off its post at around 1 a.m. on Aug. 15.

• A man reported being punched in the face after a verbal argument with another man at the taxi stand at the Port Jefferson train station just before midnight on Aug. 11. The victim suffered an eye injury but refused medical attention.
