Incident Report: Man Assaulted in His Own Driveway

Reported incidents in Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, and Mt. Sinai.

Suffolk police reported the following incidents in Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, and Mt. Sinai between Jan. 13 and Jan 17:

  • On Jan. 13, a patron at Port Jazz in Port Jefferson called to report he was struck by another person between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Everyone was asked to leave the bar following the incident, according to the report.
  • On Jan. 14, a resident of Possum Lane in Port Jefferson Station reported that someone assaulted him in his own driveway.
  • On Jan. 15, a resident of Wilson Drive in Port Jefferson reported a burglary that took place sometime between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. According to a police report, the homeowner returned home to find the gate open, a broken window on the back door, and a brick near that door. The homeowner found the closets in the home to be open but it was unclear whether anything was stolen.
  • On Jan. 17 at 5:30 p.m., a resident of Wheat Path Road East in Mt. Sinai reported that someone had shattered windows on a vehicle.
