Police Charge Convict with $50K Burglary of Tarry Place Home

On Nov. 13, David Hili, 45, of Port Jefferson Station, NY was arraigned on a C-Felony charge with a return court date and taken back to Nassau County Jail.

DNA evidence found in a burglarized Tarrytown home led local authorities to a prisoner of the Nassau County Jail.

David Hili, 45, of Port Jefferson Station, NY, was charged by Tarrytown police on Nov. 13 with a felony burglary dating back to July 1. He allegedly broke into a home through a back window and got away with jewelry, cash and a fur coat from the residence valued at about $50,000.

Lt. William Herguth said Det. Stiloski processed the scene and was able to get DNA evidence which when submitted for analysis matched Hili. Herguth said Hili has a record with previous burglary convictions and nine counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh.

Tarrytown police picked Hili up from Long Island and brought him to headquarters for an arrest warrant for burglary in the second here.

Hili was arraigned on the C-Felony charge with a return court date and taken back to Nassau County Jail.
