Police: Port Jeff Woman Drove Wrong Way in Riverhead Traffic Circle

New York State Troopers charged driver with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

New York State Troopers arrested a Port Jefferson woman and charged her for driving while impaired by drugs after they say she was driving the wrong way in a Riverhead traffic circle.

At about 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday, State troopers stopped Jeanine Glass, 43, after they spotted her Hyundai entering a traffic circle heading the wrong way. Police say that she failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.

A small amount of marihuana, marihuana paraphernalia, and pills identified as controlled substances were recovered from her vehicle.

Glass was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marihuana, controlled Substances not in original container, and traffic violations.

She is due back in Town of Southampton Court on June 18.
