Additional Charges Possible For Port Jeff Station Man Accused of Posing as Fake Cop

Lawyer for David Bradley says he never tried to pass himself off as an ICE officer during Sunday's incident.

David Bradley, the Port Jefferson Station man and putting a 19-year-old man in handcuffs, will be arraigned in Suffolk County court in Riverhead on Wednesday, according to the District Attorney's office.

Bradley, 39, was arrested June 11 and charged with impersonating a federal agent. He pled not guilty in court last week.

Suffolk County Police said Bradley was involved in a road rage incident in Port Jefferson Station on June 10 around noon, at the intersection of Woodhull Avenue and Route 347. Following the incident, police said that he activated emergency lights on his automobile, pulled the other car over, identified himself as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, and handcuffed the teen driving the vehicle.

The district attorney's office said that Bradley was wearing a bulletproof vest, a badge and what appeared to be a gun in a holster at the time.

Police said Bradley then placed the individual into his own vehicle, drove him to his home in Port Jefferson Station, brought him inside, and detained him for a few minutes. He removed the handcuffs after about five minutes and returned him to his vehicle.

The reported victim brought the incident to the attention of police the next day, and Bradley later went into the Sixth Precinct to report the road rage incident to police. He was arrested at the station.

Bradley is also being charged in connection with an incident in Port Jefferson Station on May 4 when he approached police at a crime scene and offered assistance, identifying himself as a federal agent.

According to reports, Bradley is the CEO of Clarion Associates, an insurance company for musicians and their instruments.

Bradley was arrested on misdemeanor charges of unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, and two charges of criminal impersonation in the second degree.

Prosecutors said charges may be upgraded after they conducted a follow-up criminal investigation and that Bradley did not post bail.

The case will be called at around 9:30 a.m. when Judge James F.X. Doyle will unseal Bradley’s indictment. Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Stacy Skorupa will prosecute the case.
