Sunday Morning Attic Fire in Terryville Home

Terryville Fire Department responded to a call for a fire at a Ficus Street home.

A fire blazed in the attic of a home in Terryville early on Sunday morning, according to Dennis Whittam, a spokesperson for the .

The call came in around 4:30 a.m. about a working structure fire on Ficus Street. Firemen arrived to find the home in flames coming from the attic.

Whittam said that the firemen were able to put the fire out quickly. Multiple departments responded to the fire including Port Jefferson, Mt Sinai, Coram and Selden.

Currently, there is no word on the cause of the fire.
