Victim taken to Stony Brook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At about 6:37 a.m., a man was hit on Route 25A in Mt. Sinai near Heritage Diner stopping traffic heading east and causing serious delays westbound towards Port Jefferson Station.

A damaged Honda SUV was in the eastbound lane with a smashed windshield and a dented hood. A pair of work boots were lying in the middle of the road that police on the scene said belonged to the person who was hit.

The eastbound lane of Route 25A was closed from 7:34 until 8:52 a.m., according to police.
