Two Port Jefferson Men Arrested For Heroin

Police arrested two Port Jefferson men Tuesday morning after officers discovered they had heroin and a hypodermic needle in the car.

Officers pulled over Victor Cohen, 39, of Port Jefferson for speeding on County Road 104 in Quogue at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, police said. Police found that his license had been suspended and that he was under the influence of heroin and possibly marijuana, they said. He also had a hypodermic needle with heroin in it, officers said.

Cohen was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, all misdemeanors. He was also charged with a violation, unlawful possession of marijuana.

Cohen’s passenger, James Tomasso, 43, of Port Jefferson Station, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. He also had heroin.
