Windshield Smashed in Oakland Ave. Parking Lot

A look at recent crime in the Port Jefferson area.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

-Police said a Mt. Sinai man was driving too slow when they pulled him over in Port Jefferson and arrested and charged him with driving while intoxicated.

According to police, Michael Miller, 31, was driving a 2007 Jeep at midnight on Oct. 5 on Roessener Lane. Miller was charged with felony drunk driving while intoxicated due to a reported prior drunk driving conviction in the past 10 years.

-Robert Morgan, 58, of Port Jefferson, was arrested in Port Jefferson on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Police said Morgan failed to signal a turn on Roosevelt Ave. He was pulled over at 12:40 a.m. Police then charged him with misdemeanor drunk driving.

-A 29-year-old Mt. Sinai man who police said was in possession of the psychedelic drug known as Molly was arrested in Port Jefferson. According to police, the arrest occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Roessener Lane. He was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.

-A Smithtown man was arrested in Port Jefferson on Sept. 25 and charged with criminal mischief and trespass. Police said the man 68, was in the parking lot of Pax Christi on Oakland Ave. and broke the windshield of a 2002 Ford Taurus. Both charges are misdemeanors.
