Comsewogue School District announced that it will be closed on Monday due to the blizzard.
"The roads are just not passable and it will be not safe to put our students on the roads," said Board of Education president John Swenning in a Comsewogue Community Facebook post. He also said that the Sunday night performance of "Sound of Music" also had to be cancelled.
Swenning went on to tell residents that the closing will not affect the school's February or Spring Breaks.
"We will come to a solution that will be acceptable to the State," he reported.
