On the Agenda: Budget Talks

Village leaders are expected to discuss upcoming budgets at Monday night's Village Board meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. in Village Hall.

Port Jefferson School District Superintendent Ken Bossert will present the PJSD budget for next year, and further discussion about the village budget – which could face some revenue issues in the coming year – is expected.

Also on the agenda is a measure to approve a paving job for the Traders Cove parking lot. The project, expected to cost over $425,000, is being fully paid for from revenues realized by the village parking meters.

Nearly $10,000 in additional lighting near dimly lit parking meters is up for vote, as is a resolution which would permit village leaders to pierce the tax cap levy, should they decide to do so, with a three-fifths vote.
