Port Jeff Postmaster Took Early Photos of Everyday Life in Village

Part 3 of our video interview with Kenneth Brady, who is meticulously assembling a digital archive of Port Jefferson through old photos.

Town historian Ken Brady recently archived over 125 photos taken by the former Portmaster in Port Jefferson. The photos depict what life was like back then for the average person. John Brown was one of the earliest people to take photos and he used his camera to document everday scenes around Port Jefferson village.

"It's a different approach to photography," said Brady. "It's much more casual."

Enjoy Part 3 in our ongoing video series on the effort of the village to preserve the history of Port Jefferson in photos.
