Town historian Ken Brady recently archived over 125 photos taken by the former Portmaster in Port Jefferson. The photos depict what life was like back then for the average person. John Brown was one of the earliest people to take photos and he used his camera to document everday scenes around Port Jefferson village.
"It's a different approach to photography," said Brady. "It's much more casual."
