Port Jeff Village Attorney to Retire Monday

Barry Warren steps down from village work after serving 15 years.

A familiar face will soon be missing from the table when the Port Jefferson Village board gathers.

Village attorney Barry Warren is set to retire at Monday night, making June 3 his last board meeting. He has served 15 years as legal council and advisor for the village, reports the Port Times Record.

Warren served from 1995 to 2005, when former Mayor Mike Lee and the village board relieved him of his post, before being reappointed in 2009.

"Being able to represent the village where I live, where my wife lives … was terrific," Warren told Port Times  Record. "It was a full circle of involvement with the village."

He will also retire from practice with the law firm Cohen & Warren P.C. in Smithtown.
