Blogger: How Spring Football Came to Comsewogue

An innocent question leads one father to start a local spring football league.

Two of Rudy Gray's sons were looking for a sport to play in the Comsewogue area during the spring months. He asked his boys what they'd like to play and after deliberating about it one of his sons turned the question back on his father.

"Then he asked why there isn't a spring football league," Gray writes in his post on Port Jefferson Patch.

Gray says he reached out to one of the founding members of Comsewogue Youth Football and asked about starting a league. That discussion led to the idea for the Comsewogue Youth Football Spring NFL Flag league that will run from May until July.
