Englebright On-Hand For Comsewogue Parent Music Association's Celebration

Group fosters music appreciation and raises money for students.

The Comsewogue Parents Music Association (CPMA) marked 10 years of helping the music students through scholarships, equipment purchases and master classes with a celebration at the this past November.

New York State Assemblyman Steve Englebright joined about 80 people at the event including parents, teachers and school administrators. Comsewogue music students served food and performed for the crowd with school superintendent Joseph Rella playing the keyboards with 11th grader Peter Bruschi on his Euphonium for at least one set.

According to member Pam Hergerton, the CPMA’s major accomplishments include awarding over $25,000 in scholarships to Comsewogue music students over the last 5 years, donating $1,200 for the purchase of recording equipment to enable music departments to record concerts, student auditions and recitals, and arranging music programs and master classes for students to help enrich their music education.
