Comsewogue School District and its teacher's union reached an agreement last week that will forego step increases and salary raises for the 2012-2013 school year, according to a recent article in the Port Times Herald.
According to the article, the terms of the deal will save the school district $275,000, with teachers eligible for three 1.5 percent salary increases at three separate dates by February 2015.
Port Jefferson Station Teachers Association President Beth Domino told the paper the proposal passed the union unanimously. "So that tells you how my membership felt about the deal," she said.
The union had been without a current contract since last summer.
