Update: Holiday Fun at the PTA Bookfair

The organized a bookfair at the Barnes & Noble at Smithhaven Mall in Stony Brook this past Monday to help raise money for .

At the fair were teachers and parents from the district to do storytelling, crafts and a winter Bingo game for the kids. There was also holiday caroling to help get everyone into the mood of the season. The elementary school received 15 percent of the total sales from the book fair that took place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

PTA president, Jill Russell called it a "great success" and said that there was "heavy teacher participation"at the event.

The fundraiser continues until Dec. 18 with 15 percent of online and in-store sales going to the Elementary School. In order to participate you must use offer code 10379535 when ordering books.

• Go to BN.com/bookfairs and click "Start Shopping Now." Almost everything on the website is eligible for the book fair.
• Set up an account or log into your account when you check out.
• At the bottom of the payment page check the box that says: "Check If This Is A Bookfair Order."
