Last Chance: Run For Port Jeff School Board

Petitions to run for school board due on April 16.

Time is running out if you're considering a run for the three seats up for grabs at the next school board election on May 15.

According to a statement released by the school district, the three seats currently held by members Mark Doyle, Lauren Hubbard and James Laffey (who is completing the unexpired term of Robert Frey) will be up for public vote at the annual district budget vote and election.

Nomination petitions are still available to run for a seat on the Port Jefferson School District Board of Education. Completed petitions are due no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, April 16. All interested community members should contact District Clerk Janice Baisley at 476-4404 ext. 8 to obtain the necessary paperwork.
