For 25 years, the skilled plastic surgeons at Cosmetic Surgery of New York have been helping men and women restore and enhance their appearance and increase self-confidence.The business, which has expanded over the years, says it has a special place in it's heart for Port Jefferson Station. We spoke to Dawn Riske about the practice.
Why Port Jefferson Station location?
The doctors of Cosmetic Surgery of New York chose their Port Jefferson Station location because of its close proximity to the hospitals the doctors are affiliated with. You can call their office to request to see them for an emergency at John T. Mather Memorial, St. Charles, St. Catherine of Siena, Stony Brook, or Peconic Bay Medical Center hospitals if you ever find yourself in need of a plastic surgeon. Dr. Jacobs is currently Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Charles Hospital, and Dr. Warm is currently Chief of Plastic Surgery at J.T. Mather Memorial Hospital.
How has the business changed since conception to opening the doors?
We have found that there is a greater desire for cosmetic surgery than in our early years of practicing, when we performed more reconstructive procedures. We now perform the majority of our surgeries in our own AAAASF accredited surgical facility as opposed to a hospital setting. Another change is in recent years: there has been increased interest in non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation including injectable facial fillers, Botox, and Thermage. For best results, you should always see a plastic surgeon since they have been fully trained in all aspects of cosmetic surgery, including non-invasive options. Even though these procedures are considered “non-invasive”, they should still be considered significant. We have also incorporated a skin-care department. Our esthetician, Anne-Marie Bellavia uses medical grade skin treatments and products for anti-aging and overall skin health.
What are you most proud of?
We are most proud of the quality of care we give our patients.
