Royals Soccer Team Beats Pierson in Semifinals to Advance

Port Jefferson boys soccer team will play Southhold on Saturday for county title.

The news website 27east.com reported that the Port Jefferson boys soccer team beat the Pierson Whalers 4-0 in Wednesday's semifinal game. The Royals will play their next game this Saturday.

Port Jefferson (14-1-1) advances to face No. 3 Southold in the county title game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Diamond in the Pines in Coram. The Settlers scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-2 victory over host Greenport in Wednesday’s other semifinal. Port Jeff, which beat Southold twice, 4-1 and 5-0, during the regular season, is in search of its third consecutive Suffolk County title, although its previous two runs have ended at the hands of Nassau champ Friends Academy in the regional final.
