Port Jefferson Guide to Summer Camps for Kids

With the warm weather on the way, now is the time to select a great summer program before they all fill up.

With a little less than four months left in the school year, local parents have already started planning for their kids’ summer vacation.

And that means one thing: summer camp.

To help you decide, Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch has compiled this summer camp guide featuring a host of programs in town – and many others from nearby towns – to make the job of picking the one that’s right for your kids a much easier experience.

Everyone of my boys attended "Brookhaven Summer Fun" program...It was a 9am to noon, beginning of July to 1st week of August "camp"...The program was run at the local schools..included sports, arts & crafts and all kinds of special events days...The cost was really a Godsend, at something like $150 for the entire month+....We hooked up with other children & parents and worked out a car pool, either alternating days of even weeks...The kids were up and out and entertained everyday til noon...It kept away the "we have nothing to do" blues til mid August...It was GREAT!!!!. A little google search shows that it WAS offered in 2012..price up to $270, but STILlL WAAAAAY worth every dime!!...(that's the cost for many of these programs for one week!).... Hope they keep it going...parents...definitely check it out!!!!
