Gymnastics Camp, Defensive Driving This Week

It's a week of reflection and hypnosis this week.

Here's a look at what's happening in Port Jefferson this week.

- Martin Luther King Gymnastics CampMartin Luther King Camp begins on Jan. 20 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Come join the fun! Gymnastics, Bounce House, Games, and Relay Races are all available. Crafts & More!Pizza Included!$25 Members...$30 Non Members. $5 Sibling Discount. The event will be hosted at the Silver Stars Gymnastics located at 62 Route 25A Setauket.

- AARP Defensive Driving: This “AARP Smart Driver Course” is sponsored by AARP and participants must complete both classes to qualify for the 10% reduction on their liability and collision insurance. A non-refundable fee of $20.00 for AARP members and a $25.00 fee for non-members is due upon registration. Payment is by check or money order ONLY payable to AARP. AARP will not accept cash for this class. The class will begin at 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 at the Port Jefferson Free Library. Click here for more information.

- The Long Island Museum’s Carriage Collection: A National Treasure in Your Backyard: Come learn about a world of transportation before cars! One of the planet’s best horse-drawn vehicle collections—in any museum, anywhere—is on view just a few short miles away, in Stony Brook, at the Long Island Museum. This 45-minute lecture with slides, presented by the museum’s chief curator, Joshua Ruff, explores highlights of the museum’s carriage collection, examines how the collection was assembled, and details the recently completed reinstallation of the museum’s carriage galleries. It will be like taking a virtual tour through the museum. The event will be on Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Free Library.

- Hypnosis Works: Relax, release & unwind as you tap into and unleash the power of your Subconscious Mind to assist you in attaining and maintaining your desired weight permanently. Initial program is approximately 1 ½ hours which includes the introduction, hypnosis program and information regarding ongoing support.

This will work as a standalone program or in conjunction with any other method/program that you’re currently using.

You are an eligible candidate for this program if you feel that you could use some assistance in managing any of the following: eliminating nighttime eating – controlling emotional eating – increasing motivation to exercise – choosing healthier foods – eating healthier portions – eliminating boredom, stress and binge eating.
