I've been a professional photographer based out of Port Jefferson since 1989.  I started doing a more spontaneous style back then that has become all the rage with the latest trend of "photojournalistic wedding photography" but extremes are never good and there always needs to be a balance and a flexibility to the work that we do.

Although I was thriving years ago with many people driving 2-3 hours out to Port Jeff  to hire me, business (for all professional photographers) has suffered due to the combination of the difficult economy and the onslaught of digital, which means we are now competing with Craig's List part-timers who meet at Starbucks and don't have the experience or equipment and yet are being hired because people don't seem to know or appreciate the differences that come with quality and experience.  There has been a paradigm shift in the perceived value of photography because of digital.

And so I still offer 2 photographers at every wedding and still stand by my motto from 20 years ago:  Fine portraiture and exciting candids created by an experienced eye, quality lenses, and a generous Spirit.
